If you are going to have a successful online business or a success brick-and-mortar business, you’ve got to face the facts when it comes to your online reputation.  Even when shopping in a store, customers now pull out their phone and read reviews on products, your restaurant or store, and your competitors.  Whether you claim to have the “best price in town”, the “best burger in the Country” or just the “best customer service in Montgomery, AL”, customers aren’t just going to take your word for it anymore… if you are going to stay competitive you’ve got to let the web speak for you (good things of course).

This infographic from Geekorice shares some interesting stats and facts along with tips to get you engaged in your reputation management.  Hopefully you won’t have to deal with a bad review (fingers crossed), but in the chance that you do remember before you respond to take a deep breath, re-read your response several times before submitting it and actually think about what their review was complaining about.  As hurtful as the review may be, think if you if you were looking in from the outside (and not as the fully-involved, built-the-business-from-blood-sweat-and-tears person that you are) are there any helpful suggestions that other customers may appreciate as well?
